Mix the batter correctly. Mix just long enough that the ingredients combine well. Otherwise, you can end up changing the texture of your cupcakes; over-mixing the batter usually makes the cupcakes tough.
And, there's so much you can do with cupcakes. As with cakes, you can add fillings, sculpt into fun designs and stack them.
Chill those cupcakes using colored butter cream frosting. For an appealing presentation, pile up the cupcakes on a four level pyramid on top of the cake. This will give you layers of cupcake cake.
