A classic apple cupcake with a smooth layer of caramel cream frosting is another popular combination of cupcakes that people love to eat. Caramel bags are commonly sold during the autumn months, but this does not mean you cannot enjoy this much desired combination year-round. You can even take some real apple chunks and bake them right into the cupcakes. You can garnish your creamy cupcakes with the leftover caramel cream in order to make it more tempting.
Prior to the introduction of the cupcake to the kitchens of America, cakes were made by weighing the ingredients. Cupcakes were made by measuring the ingredients for the first time. It has been suggested that this is perhaps where the term "cup cake" originated, since everything was measured in cups. Other origins of the name have also been offered, such as the fact they are baked in a cup but at one time, cupcakes were also called "number cakes". This name originated from the recipe, whereby it required "...once cup butter, two cups sugar, three cups flour, four eggs..." At one time, recipes called for cupcakes to be "...baked into little tins."
Baking in an oven requires more work. Imagine having to turn the muffin around every now and then just to make the cupcakes cook perfectly. In cupcake makers though, you do not have to go through that kind of hassle as they are built to cook cupcakes. They already have the right heat settings for making cupcakes, so you do not have to worry about turning the batter and such.
